Dear All, Philippians 2:25-28 "But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my need; because he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick. For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow. Therefore I have sent him all the more eagerly so that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be less concerned about you." In our prayers concerning David and Rachel, my heart turned to Philippians 2:25-28. We all love David and Rachel so dearly, as Paul loved Epaphroditus dearly, and as Epaphroditus was a faithful servant of the Lord, so too, David is a faithful servant of the Lord. |
Paul had great sorrow concerning Epaphroditus, as we have great sorrow for David and Rachel. But God was merciful in His love for the saints and for Paul in bringing healing to Epaphroditus. May God be merciful in His love, first to Rachel, then to his and her family, and then to us, by doing, in His mercy and love, the same miracle and bring healing to David.
Also, the twenty-third Psalm has been near to the heart of Kim these last few days and was an encouragement to me also; it is a Psalm of comfort and prayer for all. We can pray to the Lord the truth of this Psalm for David and Rachel and plead to the Lord to safely guide him to a path of healing.
Psalm 23 "A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Dear Lord, we will give you all the glory and gratitude of our hearts if You so deem to answer our prayer and heal David. Nevertheless, we will always trust in Your perfect love and goodness in whatever way You show Your will. We trust in You. We bow before You in love. In Your blessed name, Amen.

On August 7, 2012, about three years after recording the talk on this CD, David fell 55 feet from a power line. He was flown to the ER in a coma with multiple fractures and a life-threatening brain injury. His story is still being written and continues to reveal how God's mighty hand is working through the lives of David and his wife Rachel to inspire many people, and to remind us all of the things that matter most in life.
