Camp Hope 2012

We want to thank everyone who attended Camp Hope this year. Although it is now already over, we hope that God has blessed you and continues to bless you with the memories of the messages and fellowship. We have recorded this year's messages to download for those who were unable to attend (or for those who would just like to relisten). If you'd like a free CD copy to be mailed to you, please contact Josh Kim by email (joshjkim@gmail.com).

  Welcome

W
e welcome you to join us for our tenth annual Camp Hope Bible Conference. For ten years Camp Hope has welcomed people of all ages to gather for a time of fellowship, fun, and Bible study. We hope you will join us as we delve into His Word and seek the Lord’s application of this year’s theme verse to our lives. Our desire is that through these studies we will grow deeper in our walk with the Lord and with each other, while also enjoying a fun and relaxing time participating in camp activities. We are a family camp open to everyone from infants to the elderly. Young adults are encouraged to come as we seek to focus on their spiritual needs. We also host a “Kid’s Camp” for Pre-6th grade. In addition, our Korean brethren have meetings in their language. As in years past, our messages will be based on New Testament assembly principles. Teaching in the morning meetings will focus on our theme verse and a Gospel message will be presented each evening.

"Put off the Old, and put on the New"
Eph 4:22-24

About the Theme: Why does God want us to "Put off the Old and put on the New?" If you said because everything of the old creation was put on the cross to be crucified with Christ so that only that which is of the new creation may be used in our service to God, then you are right. Yet how many times do we forget this precious truth and seek to live our Christian life with the things of Adam, rather than with the things of Christ? This year we will study this truth given to us in God’s Word so that we might purify our thinking, our walk, and our fellowship with God and with each other. We pray that you will join us as we seek to obey His Word and be renewed in the spirit of our mind.

"...put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God,
in true righteousness and holiness." -Ephesians 4:22-24

There is no cost to come to Camp Hope. Our Lord has always freely provided all things to us, therefore, we would like to offer camp to you free of charge.

Matthew 10:8, “Freely you have received, freely give.”

Kids Camp!

Our Kids Camp is hosted for children K-6th grade every morning from 9:00am to 12:30pm. It is a time for children of all ages to come together to worship the Lord, learn about His ways, and be introduced to the love and salvation Jesus offers them, all the while providing a fun, active, and creative time for the children to enjoy themselves at Camp!

Our mornings start out with praise and worship songs appropriate for a child's understanding of who God is, while still including some silly active songs children always have fun with! We then split up the children into two groups, with two separate teacher's along with their own teacher's aides. The younger group consists of children K-2nd, and our older group consists of children 3rd-6th grade.

Our desire is to target each age group according to their understanding of God, and then to encourage them to seek a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. As with all aspects of Camp Hope, our Kids Camp focus is also first and foremost on the gospel and making sure we present a clear and understandable presentation of the gospel to the children, and from there, we encourage all the children to seek after God by building a one-on-one relationship with Him. We, of course, have a Bible study for each group with a consistent theme throughout the week, sometimes accompanied by a skit or puppet show. Fun, active and sometimes crazy games are the norm for both age groups! Arts and Crafts are also a central part of Kids Camp. Every day the children create something fun and artistic that is a reflection of the Bible lesson they learned about. The study and memorization of Bible verses is also encouraged and rewarded during Kids Camp. Of course, we simplify it for the younger ones and equally reward them for their efforts as with the older children. For the older children, we really challenge them to take their walk with the Lord more seriously. We open up group discussions where they can talk about questions, doubts, or misunderstandings they may have of God and/or Christianity. We keep in close communication with their cabin counselors, and encourage the children to talk to any of the leaders of Kids Camp.

Our goal and desire is to simply bring the little children to the Lord Jesus Christ and show them the joy and wonder of living a happy life in Him! We place a large emphasis on the children at Camp Hope and recognize their faith. We want to encourage and build them up in their faith in Lord Jesus Christ. We hope you, as parents, will be able to come to Camp Hope to enjoy fellowship with other adults and time in His Word, while knowing your children are also being taken care of and spending time in His Word, all the while having a fabulous time! If you have any questions or wish to know more information about Kids Camp, please don't hesitate to contact our Kids Camp Director:

"But Jesus called them to Him and said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.'" -Luke 18:16
